FINAL FANTASY XIV: A REALM REBORN / HEAVENSWARD [2/2]
i dont understand why people are complaining about the cash shop
what ive seen its only gonna sell glamour gear and mounts
not better armour or anything…
im so confused
why do people think this is bad?
Here’s the deal.
You know the Spring Dress set? Requires 3-star crafting ability, some rare in-game materials. It’s a recipe that crafters used to sell popular glamour gear.
Now imagine the Spring Dress wasn’t craftable, but could only be bought for $5 in the cash shop. Weavers lost a small chunk of content and income. Imagine if the Leviathan chocobo barding wasn’t craftable in-game, but only available for $10 in the shop. People get less from doing the Leviathan fight for the Barb and armorsmiths lose a small amount of content and income.
Just because it’s glamour gear doesn’t make it harmless. Every item in an MMO microtransaction service requires development resources to create, and those are resources that could have been spent putting actual content in the game.
Now, what is currently in the shop is pretty innocuous. It’s old gear that’s in the game already, with the big exception of Sleipnir. But I’m worried about the future. When they inevitably add new items to the shop, how many resources will be diverted to do so? How much will the game itself be devalued?
“We all of us bear a touch of darkness, just as surely as we bear light. Much as with the twin sets of Crystals. And the darkened underworld that rests beneath your planet’s brighter surface. But as long as there is darkness, so will there always be light.”
So I had ordered a lion statuette for a Pride award but something went wrong somewhere down the line and when it arrived it had only the rear end of the lion.
It was a catastrophe.
OH FOR FUCKS SAKE
took me a second to get it
put this on my gravestone
Some pics of the “poor” area of ishgard~ they said the lower half of ishgard is constantly being attacked and rebuilt, so it has a very dark look to it, but as you go higher it gets fancier, that’s where all the nobles live~
