I’M GONNA GET A THYRUS EVEN IF IT KILLS ME
Twintania dies tomorrow! (loljk)
But seriously. We one shot turns 1-4 tonight, even taking a new SMN who had never done Coil before. We got in several turn 5 attempts before maintenance kicked us out - we can now get to phase 2 consistently but still have to sort out how we’re dealing with Fireballs, and I honestly believe we can figure out most of the fight this week.
OH MY GOD
SCREAMS AND DIES
DOES A BACKFLIP
Such an obsession with “BiS” in FFXIV at a point in the game when stat allocation on gear just isn’t high enough to result in many statistically superior combinations… Healers especially… as long as you don’t prioritize Spell Speed, it won’t really matter what gear you pick, as the difference in healing output between any combination, especially Determination and Critical Hit Rate, will be statistically insignificant. Yes, even for Scholars.
"But does that hat actually increase your intelligence?"
Model of loyalty, friendship, and righteous retribution. Unerring partner in justice to Neophyte Redglare.
Mages Ballad is helpful right? Because I was being yelled at by a White Mage for replenishing his MP and I really don’t understand…
Simple answer: only ever use Mage’s Ballad or Army’s Paeon when the healers will definitely need more mana in the future or the tank/DPS will need more TP in the future. Otherwise, you’re reducing your own damage for no reason, which means you’re prolonging the fight for no reason. If the fight is over in 5 minutes and I’m at 0 MP at the end, that’s infinitely better than the fight being over in 10 minutes and I’m at full MP at the end.
An example of when not to use Mage’s Ballad: Titan phases 1 through heart. An example of when to use Army’s Paeon: between pulls in Wanderer’s Palace speedruns.
Dove into the catacombs deep beneath La Noscea to learn the truth of what truly happened after The Calamity five years ago.
((OOC: Very first run of The Binding Coil of Bahamut last night. Without a doubt the most fun I’ve had playing ARR yet. After banging our heads on ADS (Turn 2 boss) a few times, we cleared Turn 3 and called it quits after that.
((Everything about the Coil oozes with style and well-thought planning. Turn 2 seems to be the best designed right now. The music is truly brilliant, with the two scores playing simultaneously and cross-fading between combat and non-combat scores. It makes Coil ebb and flow very naturally.
((Apologizes for the lack of photos from Turn 3, as I was too busy enjoying myself bounding from platform to platform. In the future I hope to get some more.))
I’m at the weird point in every Scholar’s career where it seems like White Mage would’ve been a better path…
I know that feel, and we’re all counting on you ~
The Problem With Moffat Era Doctor Who (By Claudia Boleyn)
Now, there have been a ton of posts on this, and if you’re interested you should definitely check out: stfu-moffat.tumblr.com . It’s an excellent resource including many of his quotes and brilliant commentaries on his era. I’m not here to brand Moffat as a sexist, but take a look at the evidence and make of that what you will.
This isn’t going to be a mere list of sexist events in Moffat’s era. More a personal explanation of why I take such offence at what has happened to Doctor Who since Moffat took over. I get a lot of asks about it, so I thought it may be helpful to finally motivate myself and put my reasoning out there.
